Renovation

Mid-century modernize.

An existing Acorn Deckhouse was renovated into a modern family home that maintains a structural sense of play. The mid-century design and clean lines of the house steered the direction, and an admirable art collection brought the finishing touches.

The unexpected and the familiar.

Renovations focused on the kitchen, dining room, laundry, and entryway with a plan allowing more flow between rooms. By removing existing walls and cabinets, space was opened up for more family connection. The new layouts were then paired with unexpected pops of color and custom millwork. A minimal palette of cool grays and whites allows the wood tones and mahogany paneling to stand out. The result is a home full of surprises and familiar, welcoming warmth.
